Who is behind it
My name is Timo. I run WorryCharm from Germany. It is a one-person operation: no team, no agency, no investors.
I am not a therapist, a psychologist or a doctor. I want that stated plainly and near the top, because a lot of writing in this corner of the internet blurs that line. What I have is an interest in objects that give restless hands somewhere to go, and enough stubbornness to get one made properly.
Why ROOTED exists
The traditional worry stone is a good idea with an old problem: a polished mineral gradually wears smooth, and the thing that made it useful, something distinct to feel, slowly disappears. Cheaper alternatives tend to click, rattle or light up, which is fine alone at a desk and useless in a meeting.
ROOTED came out of wanting one object that stays interesting to the fingers, stays silent, and survives years on a keyring. Stainless steel solved most of it: it holds coolness, it has real weight, and a brushed finish keeps its texture instead of polishing itself away in a pocket.
It is machined from 316L, the molybdenum-bearing grade used in marine hardware and body jewellery. That is not a marketing choice. It is the alloy that does not corrode against skin.
What the Journal is
General information, written carefully, about grounding techniques and sensory tools. Where an article describes an established method, I name where the method comes from rather than presenting it as something I invented. Where evidence is thin or mixed, I say so instead of rounding up.
What it is not: medical advice, a treatment plan, or a substitute for talking to someone qualified. No object fixes an anxiety disorder, and any shop telling you otherwise is selling you something. If symptoms are persistent or getting worse, that belongs with a doctor or a therapist, not with a keychain.
How it is kept current
Every article carries the date it was last updated at the top, and articles are revised when something changes what they should say. I am responsible for everything published here. If you find something in the Journal that is wrong, I would genuinely like to know: write to me and I will correct it.
The commercial part, stated openly
This site exists partly to sell ROOTED. The Journal links to it, and some articles include a product card. The articles are written so that they would still be worth reading if the product did not exist, and several of them recommend approaches that involve buying nothing at all. Judge for yourself whether that worked.
